August Comeback Lineup

August 2024 is shaping up to be a sizzling summer month for K-pop, with an incredible lineup of comebacks from some of the industry’s biggest names.

LE SSERAFIM, Yoon Sanha, fromis_9, ZEROBASRONE, UNIS, NMIXX, and many more are set to drop new music, music videos, and performances that will leave fans breathless.

2024 August Comeback Lineup

Without further ado, let’s have a look at the artists making a comeback this month

Jeon Somi

Jeon Somi kicked off the August comeback battle with a special summer single, Ice Cream, on August 2. The MV created quite a stir as it features one of Korea’s popular actors, Park Seo Joon, as ‘Mr. Ice Cream.’

Yoon Sanha

ASTRO’s youngest member Yoon Sanha is making a solo debut after years in the industry. Sanha will release his first album, DUSK, on August 6, which contains 6 songs including FOX STAR, Losing My Mind, BITTERSWEET MISTAKE, Dive (Title song), BLEEDING, and Rain Down On Me.

The title track Dive has beautiful lyrics that compare happy times to a sunset and describe the pain of losing them. His unique and emotional voice is expected to draw listeners in.

After Cha Eunwoo debuted as a soloist in February, Sanha is next in line to make a solo debut. 

UNIS

UNIS is making their first comeback after around five months since debut in March. The group is set to release their new single album CURIOUS on August 6, marking their first return to the music scene. 

CURIOUS embodies the group’s confidence and showcases the diverse experiences and emotions of young women, celebrating individuality and self-expression through honest and heartfelt lyrics.

The new single features 3 songs including a title track of the same name, CURIOUS, Datin’ Myself, and Poppin’.

They debuted in March 2024 with their first mini album, WE UNIS.

LIGHTSUM

LIGHTSUM, a six-member girl group under CUBE Entertainment, is making a comeback with a new digital single, POSE!, on August 7.

The group is making a comeback after 10 months, their last release being the mini-album Honey or Spice which dropped in October 2023.

Since their debut in 2021, LIGHTSUM has impressed listeners with multiple EPs and single albums including Into the Light (2022), Honey or Spice (2023), Light a Wish (2021), and Vanilla (2021).

MCND 

MCND will meet fans through a special summer single 아뜨뜨 on August 8. MCND is back with a new release just 90 days after their last mini-album X10. This time, they’re trying something new – their first animated music video, 아뜨뜨, made in partnership with the talented Red Underwear Yako from Sandbox Network.

BamBam

GOT7’s BamBam is making a comeback! He’s set to release his third mini-album, BAMESIS, on August 8, marking his return to the music scene after a year and five months. The title BAMESIS is a combination of his name and the word ‘genesis’, meaning origin, and represents a world created by BamBam himself. 

fromis_9

It is safe to say fans are excited about fromis_9’s comeback the most since it is happening after a year. After PLEDIS received backlash for the group’s limited releases, they’re finally releasing a new single album, Supersonic, on August 12.

Their summer single, Supersonic, contains three songs including Supersonic (Title Track), Beat The Heat, and Take a Chance. Park Jiwon, Lee Saerom, and Lee Soyeon participated in the writing of the songs.

Hyolyn

Hyolyn is set for a sizzling summer comeback with single, Wait, slated for August 12. This is her first return to the music scene in over a year after she dropped the collaboration track, This Love with Paul Blanco, in 2023.

Earlier this year, Hyolyn reunited with former SISTAR groupmate Bora to revive their sub-unit SISTAR19, releasing the nostalgic hit single No More (Ma Boy).

KARD

KARD has announced the 7th mini-album, Where To Now (Part 1: Yellow Light) on August 13. All members of KARD have undergone a dramatic transformation, sporting blond hair.

After a year and three months, KARD is back with a new album that signals a dramatic change in direction from their last release ICKY. With a second installment promised for later this year, fans are eagerly awaiting this thrilling new chapter in KARD’s musical journey.

LUN8

LUN8 is making a comeback with their third mini album, AWAKENING, on August 14 at 6 PM KST.

Their 3rd Mini Album, AWAKENING, features five tracks including Ride, Delulu, Whip, Life is a Movie, and Love Trailer.

LUN8 is returning with AWAKENING, five months after their mini album, BUFF, was released in March.

mimiirose

This August comeback is particularly special for mimiirose since two new Japanese members Anna and Yerin have joined the lineup. 

As a 7-member group, mimiirose will drop their 3rd single, REEBON, containing 3 tracks on August 16.

KATSEYE

HYBE’s multinational girl group, after making their debut with single, Debut, has announced their first EP.

The group will be dropping their first EP, SIS (Soft is Strong) on August 16. 

KATSEYE, a new group from HYBE and Geffen Records, blurs K-pop lines with its multinational members. The group was created through the reality TV show ‘The Debut: Dream Academy’, where 20 contestants competed and six were selected for the final lineup. 

DRIPPIN

DRIPPIN is returning in August, hot on the heels of their April release Beautiful MAZE. Woollim Entertainment confirmed the news on July 8, sharing a teaser for DRIPPIN’s fifth single, Weekend, scheduled for August 19.

This quick comeback comes after Beautiful MAZE achieved a new sales record for the group, selling over 130,000 copies in its first week and marking a major milestone in their career.

ARrC

On August 19, Mystic Story’s first boy group, ARrC will make their debut with EP, AR^C

ARrC (Always Remember the real Connection) is a 7-member multinational group that has already proven their talent through stage sessions of unreleased songs, Alien in Seoul and Connected.

ARrC will drop their debut EP, AR^C on August 19 at 6 PM.

NMIXX

NMIXX is making a comeback on August 19th with their third mini-album, Fe3O4: STICK OUT. This marks their return after 7 months since their last release, Fe3O4: BREAK, in January. To celebrate, they’ll be holding their 2nd fan concert, ‘NMIXX CHANGE UP : MIXX LAB’, from October 4-6 in Seoul.

Taemin 

Taemin is pulling out all the stops to celebrate his 10-year anniversary in the music industry. He’s dropping a brand-new mini-album called ETERNAL and embarking on a world tour titled Ephemeral Gaze. The title ETERNAL is especially meaningful, symbolizing Taemin’s enduring passion for music and his commitment to his craft. 

Fans are eagerly waiting to see if this new release will live up to the success of his previous hits like ‘MOVE’ and ‘WANT’. If that’s not enough, he’s also got an exhibition lined up for August 22.

Taemin is releasing ETERNAL on August 19 followed by a world tour.

ZEROBASEONE

ZEROBASEONE is making a quick return with 4th mini album, Cinema Paradise, after dropping 3rd mini-album, You had me at HELLO, in May. It is predicted that the group will achieve their 4th consecutive million-seller with the new release.

Cinema Paradise, which was first teased on KCON LA, is set to release on August 26 at 6 PM KST.

LE SSERAFIM

LE SSERAFIM, who made their last comeback in February, is joining the summer comeback battle. At the time of writing, an announcement about their next release has not been made. However, they’re confirmed to make a comeback this month.

Ahead of the comeback, they dropped their documentary, MAKE IT LOOK EASY, highlighting their journey so far. With EASY, they scored their first Billboard HOT 100 entry, expectations are high about what records they’ll break this time.

Chanyeol

Chanyeol of EXO is set to make his long-awaited solo debut this month as well. Not only will he be releasing a new album, but also going on a live tour, City-scape. As part of his tour, he will visit 10 Asian regions, beginning with Seoul in September.

Jaehyun

Many NCT members are making solo debuts and comebacks this year. With Ten, Taeyong, and Doyoung already done with solo releases, Jaehyun has hinted on numerous occasions about making a comeback in August.

Previously, Jaehyun sang an unreleased song, Dandelion, from his upcoming solo album at the Seoul Jazz Festival in June.
