At the 2024 MBC Drama Awards, Chae Soo Bin and Yoo Yeon Seok had everyone’s hearts melting with their sweet thank-yous to each other.
While the MBC Drama Awards was held on December 30, the pre-recorded ceremony was aired today. The leading cast of MBC’s Friday-Saturday drama “When The Phone Rings” thanked each other during their acceptance speeches.
Chae Soo Bin and Yoo Yeon Seok won multiple awards for their roles in “When The Phone Rings” including the Best Couple award.
When accepting the Excellence Actress Award, Chae thanked her co-star, saying, “Especially, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Yeon Seok Oppa, who we called ‘Captain Yoo’ on set and followed a lot, for guiding and helping us”.
In the drama, she played the role of a sign language interpreter with selective mutism. Therefore, she also conveyed her thanks in sign language, saying, “I was happy to meet you all through the role of Hee Joo in the drama. Thank you for loving me.”
On the other hand, the leading man of “When The Phone Rings” Yoo Yeon Seok also thanked his castmate, saying, “I guess I was able to receive this award because of the role of Hee Joo, played by none other than our soo Bin. I would like to once again thank you for making it possible.”
During their joint acceptance speech for Best Couple, Chae Soo Bin credited the win to Yoo Yeon Seok, expressing, “I am very happy to receive this, as I’ve said before, the person who created a great atmosphere during filming and united the team well, thanks to Oppa that I can also receive this category award”.
In other news, the final episode of “When The Phone Rings” aired on January 4. While it was a huge success on Netflix, it sparked significant controversy due to an insensitive and inaccurate mention of the genocide in Palestine.
