The event was scheduled to be broadcast in early January 2025 in Japan. However, the live broadcast is canceled and the recorded show will air at a later date.

Many entertainment programs, events, music festivals, and award shows were canceled after the tragic plane crash on December 29. Comeback promotions, releases, and debuts of K-pop groups and solo artists will resume after the mourning period ends on January 4, 2025.

On December 31, organizers of the Golden Disc Awards 2025 announced, “We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the victims of the recent plane crash and their families.

In consideration of the national mourning, the 39th Golden Disc Awards, originally scheduled to air live on January 4th and 5th, will instead be pre-recorded. The broadcast date will be announced later.

The red carpet event scheduled for the same day has been canceled. Details regarding ticket adjustments and other matters will be announced separately through the ticket purchase platform.

Once again, we offer our sincerest condolences to the victims and their families, and extend our deepest sympathies to those affected.”

On another note, SBS Entertainment Award, MBC Drama Award, MBC Gayo Daejejeon, and more events were canceled to show solidarity with the families of Jeju Air plane victims.
