For those who know, V’s solo music is a whole different world. As a member of BTS, he has already proven himself to be an incredible vocalist and performer. When he is flying solo, the 29-year-old K-pop star always impresses with his unique musical style.

Anyone who has listened to the BTS members’ solo music knows that his songs are in a league of their own. V’s songs are soulful with more emotional depth that sets them apart.

Since his debut as a solo artist in September 2023, he has dropped some insanely good music. Besides that, the singer has some soulful OSTs under his belt as well.

5 Best BTS V Solo Songs

If you have just become an ARMY and V is your bias, here are 5 songs that will help you get to know him better.

Love Me Again

The first place has to go to “Love Me Again”, a pre-release song from V’s debut solo album “Layover”.

It is a soulful R&B song with a warm, retro vibe. It blends classic 1970s soul with elements of gospel and jazz. V’s smooth and velvety vocals bring a sense of intimacy and longing. His low, hypnotic voice adds a dreamy quality to the song.

Many fans believe that “Love Me Again” deserved to be the title track of “Layover”. Released in September 2023, the song has surpassed 1 billion streams on Spotify. V scored his second solo entry on Billboard HOT with “Love Me Again”, debuting at No. 96.

Slow Dancing

While many fans believe that “Love Me Again” should have been the lead single of his debut album, it does not mean “Slow Dancing” is not any good.

V’s “Slow Dancing” is a captivating pop R&B track that pays homage to the soulful sounds of the 1970s, infused with jazzy elements. It has a relaxed, intimate vibe that’s perfect for, well, slow dancing. His romantic vocals are effortlessly smooth, and the surprise flute solo at the end adds a playful, carefree touch.

Christmas Tree

BTS V has consistently dropped new music on Christmas for the past few years, be it covers or brand-new songs.

In December 2021, the “Rainy Days” singer released an OST titled “Christmas Tree” for the Kdrama “Our Beloved Summer”. It is a sweet love song about a cozy conversation between two people who care about each other.

V scored his first-ever solo entry with this OST on the Billboard HOT 100, debuting at No.79.

FRI(END)S

“FRI(END)S” by BTS V was a pleasant gift to ARMYs after his military enlistment in December 2023. Released in March 2024, it is a soulful pop R&B track that’s perfect for spring. Through this song, V confesses his true feelings to a long-time friend, revealing his desire to take their relationship to the next level.

The song was well-received by fans and has already surpassed 500 million streams. “FRI(END)S also made it to the Billboard HOT 100 chart at No. 65, his fourth solo entry on the chart.

Winter Ahead

“Winter Ahead” is the latest song by BTS V, dropped on November 29 last year. “Winter Ahead” is a jazzy pop collaboration with Park Hyo Shin that’s just right for the end of the year.

The song has a dreamy, laid-back vibe with its soulful sax and trumpet riffs, plus some cleverly prepared piano work. The song is penned by Jesse Harris, who wrote Norah Jones’s hit “Don’t Know Why”.

In other news, V completes his military service on June 10, so, fans can expect new BTS and solo songs in the latter half of the year.
