Jinyoung, a South Korean actor and former B1A4 member, is set to star in the drama remake of Miss Granny.
The 32-year-old actor previously appeared in the movie Miss Granny, playing the role of Ban Ji-ha. Directed by Hwang Dong Hyuk, the film starring Na Moon Hee and Shim Eun Kyung hit theaters in January 2014.
Nearly a decade later, he is starring in the drama remake of Miss Granny.
The original 2014 film Miss Granny tells the story of Oh Mal Soon, a 70-year-old woman who magically transforms into her 20-year-old self, Oh Du Ri, and experiences a second chance at youth.
The movie was a huge success, attracting 8.66 million viewers. Notably, Jinyoung played the role of Ban Ji Ha, a lively and energetic young rocker with blonde hair.
The upcoming drama Miss Granny will be brought to life by director Park Yong Soon, known for his exceptional work on Secret Mother, Wanted, and Divorce Lawyer in Love, and writer Heo Seung Min, who penned the scripts for Risky Romance and There Is A Blue Bird.
The Sweet Home actor will take on the role of Daniel Han, a passionate entertainment producer and leader of the popular group Ignis. His character is a multi-talented producer who oversees everything from image management to song composition.
Jinyoung is expected to deliver a strong performance as Daniel Han, whose life is disrupted by the arrival of Oh Du-ri, played by Jung Ji-so, with a secret that shakes up his smooth-sailing career.
