Exciting news for fans of the action-packed series Vigilante!
According to reports, the show is set to return for a second season, with original cast members Nam Joo Hyuk, Yoo Ji Tae, and Kim So Jin reprising their roles.
While official confirmation is still pending, sources suggest that the new season is already in the works.
As per an entertainment official on July 19, season 2 of Vigilante is currently in production. The main cast from Season 1, including Nam Joo Hyuk, Yoo Ji Tae, and Kim So Jin, will return for the new season.
Additionally, the production team is currently casting new characters to join the show.
When asked about season 2 of the show, an official from Studio N, the production company of Vigilante, mentioned that the show is currently in the planning stage, with programming details yet to be finalized.
The agencies representing Nam Joo Hyuk, Yoo Ji Tae, and Kim So Jin have varying stances on their appearance in the second season.
However, given their fondness for their roles in season 1 of Vigilante, it is likely they will reprise their previous characters if scheduling and other factors align smoothly.
Nam Joo Hyuk is currently serving in the military and he is set to be discharged on September 19. If he accepts the offer, the filming will likely begin after he completes his mandatory military service.
In addition, he is in talks to lead a new fantasy drama opposite Roh Yoon Seo.
Vigilante, a Disney+ original series released in November 2023, is an action thriller that follows the story of Kim Ji Yong (played by Nam Joo Hyuk), a police academy student who leads a double life.
By day, he’s a model student, but by night, he becomes a vigilante, seeking justice for criminals who have escaped the law. The series also explores the lives of those around him, each with their own motivations.
Nam Joo Hyuk stars as Kim Ji Yong, alongside Yoo Ji Tae as Chief Jo Heon, a seasoned investigator, and Kim So Jin as Choi Mi-ryeo, a determined reporter.
