K-pop fans in Japan will have to wait a little longer to see their favorite artists perform live.
Due to the country’s intense heat wave, the Dream Concert World in Japan has been postponed for safety reasons.
The ‘Dream Concert World in Japan’ event, scheduled for August 10-11 at the Veruna Dome in Saitama Prefecture, Japan, will be held at a later date due to the ongoing heat wave.
On July 30, an official from the organizing committee informed Yonhap News that they had decided to postpone the concert after the Japanese Government issued a nationwide heatstroke warning.
Since it is not suitable to gather a huge crowd in extreme heat, the organizers have postponed the event and are currently discussing new dates with the Japanese production company.
Artists scheduled to perform at the event include SHINee’s Onew, NewJeans, TWS, tripleS, DAY 6, NCT WISH, NEXZ, BADVILLIAN, EPEX, and KISS OF LIFE.
Currently, Japan is experiencing an intense heat wave, with temperatures reaching 41°C in some regions. As a result, heatstroke warnings are issued in 38 prefectures, including Saitama.
Consequently, the 2024 Dream Concert World in Japan, a K-pop event co-hosted by Forest Media, the Korea Entertainment Producers Association, and Kyunghyang Shinmun, has been rescheduled due to safety concerns.
