After promising the launch of a charitable organization last year, G-Dragon is finally launching the JUSPEACE Foundation today (August 5).
He will serve as an honorary chairman and has donated parts of his copyright profits.
On August 5, Galaxy Corporation revealed details in an official statement, stating, “After announcing its establishment at a press conference last December, we have been holding advisory meetings, interviews with experts, discussions in each field, and business preparations since January of this year.”
The JUSPEACE Foundation, with G-Dragon as its honorary chairman, will hold its inaugural ceremony today. Approximately 50 experts from diverse fields will attend, who will support the foundation’s charitable initiatives, fundraising efforts, and external outreach programs.
The name JUSPEACE is a combination of the words ‘justice’ and ‘peace’, personally chosen by G-Dragon to reflect the foundation’s mission.
The charitable organization aims to boost the sharing of copyrights with the public, back up artistic individuals, aid creators involved in public interest work, advocate for art therapy and mental well-being through art, and offer music therapy for young individuals struggling with drug addiction.
G-Dragon will be donating a portion of his music income to support the JusPeace Foundation, with 1% of his revenue going towards the organization’s charitable efforts.
On the work front, G-Dragon is reportedly making a comeback in the fall with a concert scheduled in November or early next year.
