Bound Entertainment, led by CEO Ha Yeon Joo, is producing Newtopia, a K-zombie series for Coupang Play. The drama is based on the novel Influenza by Han Sang Woon and is the first original K-zombie series on the platform.
Since the announcement, the drama has been grabbing attention for its star-studded cast including BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and Park Jeong Min. The first look and interview with the cast has already been dropped, which has heightened anticipation.
Bound Entertainment is working with Billions Plus to bring this exciting story to life.
Ha Yeon Joo, a veteran content producer and investor with over two decades of experience, founded Bound Entertainment in 2018.
CEO Ha’s diverse portfolio includes overseeing the production of Korean films like War of the Arrows and Scandal Makers, as well as executive producing international hits like Snowpiercer and Okja, and Equals.
Ha also played a key role in producing Dr. Brain Apple TV+’s first Asian original series, directed by Kim Jee Woon and starring late Lee Sun Gyun.
Newtopia, starring Park Jeong Min and global sensation Jisoo, tells the story of soldier Jae Yoon and his girlfriend Young Joo as they fight to reunite in a zombie-infested Seoul. With its release slated for next year, all eyes are on whether Newtopia will become the next big hit.
