The 31-year-old K-pop star has been under scrutiny since the incident, and the police are expected to soon wrap up their probe and refer the case to prosecutors.

On August 26, Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency Commissioner Kim Bong Sik announced at a press conference that the investigation into SUGA’s case is nearing completion.

While no exact date has been set, the case is expected to be transferred to prosecutors as early as this week.

SUGA underwent his first police investigation on August 23, 17 days after being involved in a drunk driving accident. During the investigation, he admitted to the charges. Two days later, on August 25th, the Haegeum rapper posted a second apology to fans on the Weverse platform.

The incident occurred on August 6, when SUGA was found by police lying on the ground after falling off an electric scooter while intoxicated near his home in Hannam-dong, Seoul. He was booked for violating the Road Traffic Act, with a breathalyzer test revealing a blood alcohol level of 0.227% – exceeding the 0.08% threshold for license revocation.

Despite massive backlash and media scrutiny, ARMYs continue to stand by SUGA by streaming his songs and sending messages of support.
