Shin Seul Ki, star of Netflix’s ‘Single’s Inferno’, joins BTOB’s Yook Sungjae and WJSN’s Bona in a new fantasy drama, The Haunted Palace (working title).
On August 28, Shin Seul Ki’s agency, Big Smile Entertainment, announced that she will be taking on the role of ‘Choi In Seon’ in the upcoming SBS drama Return to the Palace.
Following her standout role as ‘Seo Do-ah’, the charismatic FM class president, in the TVING original series ‘Pyramid Game’, she is set to showcase her versatility with this new character.
The Haunted Palace is a fantasy romantic comedy about a shaman and a snake spirit trapped in her first love’s body.
Shin Seul Ki takes on the role of ‘Choi In-seon’, the kind-hearted and innocent daughter of the esteemed Choi Won-woo family in Joseon.
As the story unfolds, Choi In-seon finds herself entangled in a complicated situation when she mistakenly believes that her savior, during a life-threatening illness, was not the shaman Yeo-ri (played by Kim Ji Yeon), but rather the king’s inspector Yoon Gab (played by Yook Sungjae).
Government officer Yoon Gab (Yook Sungjae) is possessed by an Imoogi creature. The Imoogi is linked to Yeo-Ri (Bona), a shaman’s granddaughter with a divine gift, who refuses her fate.
As the Imoogi seeks Yeo-Ri’s body to ascend to Heaven, she enters the palace to help Yoon Gap after he becomes possessed. She teams up with reformist King Lee Sung (Kim Ji Hoon) to uncover the secrets behind powerful female ghosts haunting the palace.
The Haunted Palace is coming to SBS in 2025.
