On August 30, the Seoul Yongsan Police Station announced that they had sent the 31-year-old K-pop star to the Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office without detention.

Suga is currently under investigation for driving an electric scooter while intoxicated near his residence in Hannam-dong, Seoul on the evening of August 6.

A breathalyzer test conducted by police at the scene revealed a blood alcohol level of 0.227% – exceeding the 0.08% threshold that warrants license revocation.

On August 23rd, the Haegeum rapper appeared at the Yongsan Police Station for questioning, during which he reportedly acknowledged the charges against him.

A couple of days later, police announced that they would conclude the investigation soon and forward the case to prosecution.

Afterward, on August 25, Suga issued a second apology in a handwritten apology, expressing his embarrassment and regret. He acknowledged that the incident had stained the precious memories he shared with his members and fans, damaging BTS’s reputation.

Lastly, Suga is presently fulfilling his military service as a social worker, working a regular schedule that enables him to return home after working hours. This drunk driving incident will not have any impact on his military service period and is set to be discharged in June 2025.
