Jennie from BLACKPINK has vowed to take legal action against fake news outlets and social media accounts impersonating her father.
A surprising rumor has been making the rounds online lately, claiming that Jennie’s dad has penned a novel using AI technology.
On September 6, her personal label ODD ATELIER addressed the rumor in an official statement, saying, “Recently, false information and fake news have been continuously spreading, falsely claiming to be from Jennie’s father. We would like to clarify that this is completely untrue and has nothing to do with Jennie.”
The agency also announced legal action against those spreading false information, “Please be cautious when purchasing illegal publications, and take extra care not to suffer any damage related to this. We are taking legal action against the spreaders of false information, including criminal complaints through our law firm for defamation and obstruction of business.
Additionally, we are taking legal action against those who write malicious posts, including defamation, sexual harassment, and malicious slander against our artist. Since these actions are clear crimes, we will take strong legal measures without leniency based on the collected evidence.”
On the work front, Jennie has just wrapped up filming for the JTBC entertainment program ‘My Name is Gabriel’ and is now gearing up for the release of her debut album.
