The 33-year-old actress talked about dating, her stylish pixie cut at TIFF 2024, and how she was different from her character Jae Hee in her 20s in an interview with a Korean media outlet.

Kim Go Eun on Dating

During the interview, she shared her thoughts on dating, saying, “Unfortunately, I have never been on a blind date or gone on a group meeting, I would like to try, but it is probably too late now.”

How She Was in Her 20s

When asked how different she was from her character Jae Hee in her 20s, Kim Go Eun shared, “When I was in my 20s, I was not like Jae Hee. I think it was the opposite. I think I had to be able to be myself. I had to joke around well, and show my true self, the side of me that comes out when I’m comfortable, for the relationship to progress”.

She continued, “I was a bit more exemplary than Jae Hee, I was diligent and hardworking. Of course, Jae Hee also works hard, but I didn’t play as much as Jae Hee did.’

Kim Go Eun recalled her younger days, saying, ‘At the time, I lived with my grandmother, and I was a timid person, so I did not go to clubs or anything.’

She recalled, “When I was in my 20s, I lived close to Gangnam Station. When I commuted to school at 6 or 7 am, I would see people pouring out of clubs after a late night. I would just walk quickly, looking down at the ground.”

Her Iconic Pixie Cut at TIFF

Lastly, she created quite a stir by debuting a pixie cut on the red carpet of the Toronto International Film Festival.

Regarding this, she added, “I was originally going to try and hide it if I could, but it felt unnatural, I did not expect the reaction to be so positive. I did not cut it to look pretty. I just thought, ‘It can’t be helped,’ but I was relieved that the response was good,” and continued, “When I thought of the character, this hairstyle came to mind.”
