It’s official: Jungkook’s ‘I Am Still’ is one of the highest-grossing concert films ever!
The 27-year-old K-pop sensation released his first solo documentary worldwide with limited screenings on September 18.
“Jungkook: I Am Still” documents the BTS member’s transformation into a solo superstar.
It provides an exclusive glimpse into the making of his solo album “GOLDEN”, unreleased interviews, performances, promotions, and personal stories.
Since its release last month, it has received an overwhelming response from fans in Korea and abroad.
“I Am Still” became 2024’s highest-grossing cinema event, raking in $15.7 million globally with 1.2M tickets sold and ranking 8th among the top-grossing concert films of all time.
With this, Jungkook dethroned renowned international singer Beyoncé to take over the 8th spot. “I Am Still” outperformed Beyoncé’s concert film “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé.”
More recently, the new, extended version of the documentary “Jung Kook: I Am Still” Party Edition hit cinemas on October 11.
During its opening weekend, the documentary film secured the 9th spot at the North American box office, generating an impressive $3.12 million in revenue. It is the highest-ever box office earnings for a K-pop solo artist film released in the region.
Furthermore, “I Am Still” dominated the box office charts in multiple Latin American countries including Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Peru, Colombia, and Argentina.
Following its successful debut, BIGHIT MUSIC released a “Party Edition” from its 4th week, featuring an exclusive sing-along video.
In other news, Jungkook is currently serving as an active-duty soldier in the military and is set to be discharged in June 2025.
