Production on the long-awaited drama “I Believe You” starring NCT’s Jaehyun and Lee Chae Min has been suspended indefinitely due to financial setbacks.
According to YTN’s report on October 15, drama production “I Believe You” by Mays Entertainment came to a halt in June, just 90 days into filming, which began in April, citing financial investment problems.
The drama’s production has hit a roadblock due to a surprising investment setback. Initially, the plan was to start filming while finalizing the investment deal, but the investor suddenly pulled out, leaving the production team scrambling to cover costs.
It has been five months since filming came to a grinding halt, and despite the production company’s best efforts, they are still struggling to find new investors.
The biggest worry now is paying the actors and staff. They are facing the very real possibility of legal action over unpaid wages.
A representative of Mays Entertainment told YTN, ‘We are working to resolve the issue through a new investor and will take responsibility for paying unpaid actor guarantees and staff wages until the end.’
The upcoming black comedy “I Believe You” follows the empowering journey of the weak rising against the strong. It is Jaehyun’s drama debut as the male lead, supported by Lee Chae Min, Kim Sun Young, and Park Sung Woong.
In other news, Jaehyun made his screen debut with the thriller film “You’ll Die in Six Hours” today. On the other hand, Lee Chae Min received critical acclaim for his role in the Netflix original series “Hierarchy.” He is set to reunite with his “Hierarchy” Co-star Roh Jeong Eui in the drama “Bunny and Her Boys.”
