BTS member Jungkook recently joined SiriusXM Hits 1 for an in-depth interview, where he opened up about his tattoos, the worldwide popularity of K-pop, and his record-breaking solo achievements. The conversation took place during promotions for his newly released single, Seven.
When asked about his favorite tattoo, Jungkook pointed to the tiger flower design on his right forearm. Known as his birth flower, the tattoo carries the meaning “Please give me love” in flower language. Jungkook explained that “it is beautiful and painful at the same time,” that is why it’s the most cherished piece.
Beyond this, Jungkook’s tattoos form a larger narrative of his life and artistry. His right hand famously features “ARMY” as a tribute to BTS fans, with each letter also representing fellow members RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jin, V, and Jimin alongside himself.
He has inked a crown, a smiley face, and the number “0613,” motifs like a skeleton hand, a microphone, and phrases such as “Make hay while the sun shines.”
The interview also touched on K-pop’s ability to reach listeners worldwide despite language barriers. Jungkook credited the genre’s impact to its dynamic presentation.
Quoting BTS leader RM, he described K-pop as “a full package,” blending music, visuals, choreography, and content that collectively appeal to a global audience. To introduce someone new to the genre, Jungkook recommended BTS’s 2018 single IDOL.
In July, Jungkook released his debut solo single Seven featuring Latto, which debuted at number one on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Global 200, a first for an Asian solo artist.
