SEVENTEEN embarked on a US tour after making their comeback on October 14!
Before they departed for the US, they performed and pre-recorded performances for Korean music shows.
Recently, a safety incident at SEVENTEEN’s “M Countdown” pre-recording has sparked outrage among fans, prompting demands for an official apology. On October 15, the group filmed their new song “LOVE, MONEY, FAME” at CJ ENM Studio Center in Paju.
An audience member, who witnessed the incident, shared a statement on X on October 22.
The fan painted a disturbing picture of the chaotic scene, revealing that the venue was dangerously overcrowded with 1,700 fans, exceeding the planned capacity of 1,600. The crushing pressure in the floor area left many feeling like their lives were at risk.
‘The situation was unbearable,’ the fan recalled. ‘Fans were fainting, getting sick, and being carried out during the performance.’
To make matters worse, attendees were required to wear thick varsity jackets provided by the organizers, which led to dehydration and further health issues.
‘The jackets were suffocating,’ they added. ‘It was like they did not care about our well-being at all.'”
The person recounted the aftermath of the ordeal, describing how victims were forced to recover on the asphalt outside the venue due to lack of space.
Despite collecting personal information from affected fans, the agency took no further action. When the fan contacted Weverse Customer Center for answers, the agency’s response was dismissive, stating they only provide on-site assistance for on-site issues.
In an interview with Daily Sports, they shared contacting the Korea Consumer Agency on October 18 to address the issue. HYBE asked fans to submit photos or videos as evidence to receive additional compensation.
Since broadcasting stations’ pre-recording policies ban electronic devices, including cell phones, within the studio. This meant no visual evidence like photos, videos, or recordings existed to support their claims.
Another fan described severe crowding due to the stage design, with SEVENTEEN’s members rushing to finish the recording.
HYBE clarified that they followed broadcasting guidelines and provided rest areas and drinks to mitigate discomfort.
