The Japanese adaptation of ‘Nevertheless’, titled ‘Nevertheless: The Shapes of Love’, features Ryusei Yokohama in the lead role.
Directed by Ryutaro Nakagawa and executive produced by Michihito Fujii, this 8-episode series explores the complexities of human attraction and the emotional vulnerabilities that comes with it.
Set in Kamakura, Japan, the drama follows the story of two individuals who find themselves irresistibly drawn to each other.
The 2021 K-drama “Nevertheless” (produced by Beyond J, Studio N, and SLL) swept fans off their feet with its intoxicating romance between Song Kang and Han So Hee. It stayed in the Top 10 shows in Japan on Netflix for 13 weeks.
SLL, a leading content creator, is expanding its presence in Japan. SLL is working closely with Japanese content companies. After announcing the remake of “Nevertheless,” the production Department Head Park Jun Seo partnered with TV Asahi and THE SEVEN.
They are now working on a new project, teaming up with director Lee Jae Gyu and producer Akira Morii.
It is not new for popular Kdramas to be remade in other countries, thanks to their engaging plots. tvN’s most popular drama “Queen of Tears” is set for a Turkish remake. Moreover, “Doctor Cha” and “King The Land” will also be adapted into Turkish series.
The Japanese remake “Nevertheless: The Shapes of Love” premieres globally on December 9 at 9 PM, simultaneously streaming on ABEMA and Netflix.
