Yulhee, 26, has filed a lawsuit against her ex-husband, Choi Minhwan, 31, of FTISLAND, seeking custody of their kids, alimony, and division of assets. She took legal action after accusing Choi of frequent visits to questionable adult entertainment establishments.
Yulhee has applied to mediation with the Seoul Family Court to revise the terms of her divorce from FTISLAND drummer and vocalist. The couple ended their six-year marriage in December, with Minhwan initially gaining custody of their three children.
Notably, Yulhee had waived her rights to custody and property during divorce negotiations. However, she has now changed her stance and is seeking changes to the custody arrangement, alimony, and division of assets.
It was revealed that Minhwan offered a 50 million Won one-time divorce settlement and 2 million won monthly child support for their three kids. However, the former LABOUM member deemed this wasn’t enough to raise their children. She gave up custody because she couldn’t afford to raise them on her own and Choi had a more stable financial situation.
Previously, she shared her reasons for divorcing him on YouTube Live. She stated that Choi Minhwan’s frequent visits to adult entertainment establishments and inappropriate behavior when drunk led to their separation.
She also played a recording where Minhwan was talking to adult entertainment workers. She had faced criticism for giving up custody of their child, but she has now shared her side of the story.
Yulhee explained that his behavior made it difficult for her to continue their marriage. She hopes that by speaking out, she can clear up misunderstandings surrounding their divorce.
In response to Yulhee’s allegations, FNC Entertainment issued a formal apology on October 25 and announced Choi Minhwan’s immediate suspension from all media activities.
Additionally, the agency stated that FTISLAND will continue as a two-member group for the time being.
