BTS member SUGA has teamed up with Mitchell & Ness for a new NBA capsule collection, which reflects his ongoing role as an NBA ambassador. The collaboration features apparel inspired by six NBA teams tied to cities he visited during his solo tour, D-DAY, which concluded in August 2023 in South Korea.
The collection includes T-shirts, hoodies, jackets, shorts, and hats, each branded with the logos of the six teams:
- Brooklyn Nets
- Chicago Bulls
- Golden State Warriors
- Los Angeles Clippers
- Los Angeles Lakers
- New York Knicks
The designs draw inspiration from the cities themselves and the unique characteristics of each team. Cherry on top, these designs are merged with SUGA’s personal style and the NBA’s iconic branding.
The “Haegeum” rapper played an active role in the creative process and incorporated elements from his album D-DAY and his experiences performing in each city. The capsule collection highlights his connection to both basketball and music.
Fans will be able to purchase the collection in the coming weeks through select NBA Stores, Mitchell & Ness locations, and the Weverse Shop. Those interested can register on the official NBA website to access early purchase information.
SUGA’s partnership with the NBA is not new. He was named an NBA ambassador earlier in 2023 and has participated in several events since then. In 2022, he attended the NBA Japan Games, sitting courtside and sharing behind-the-scenes content on social media.
He also attended a regular-season NBA game between the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Lakers in January, as well as Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals between the Miami Heat and New York Knicks in April.
Most recently, he appeared in the NBA Finals campaign, We Are All in the Finals. Following the conclusion of his D-DAY solo tour in August 2023, SUGA prepared for his mandatory military enlistment, starting next month, as a social service agent due to prior shoulder surgery.
