On December 2, the 29-year-old K-pop idol shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram along with dozens of posts of his pet dog affectionately known as Tannie.

He also posted videos and a heartfelt note on his Instagram story stating, “The reason I am writing to you all today is because, recently, Yeontan embarked on a long journey to the stars.”

V added, ‘I thought a lot about how to share this news with you, but I felt that it was only right to let ARMYs, who have shown so much love to Yeontan, know, so I am sharing this news now. I believe Yeontan would feel happy if ARMYs also remember him fondly as he sets off on this long journey.”

V’s pet dog, Kim Yeontan, was a Pomeranian who had multiple health issues and underwent several surgeries.

The “Slow Dancing” singer frequently shared updates with ARMY through photos featuring Yeontan. Notably, Yeontan’s photo was used as the cover art for his solo album “Layover” in September 2023. He also showcased his affection for Yeontan by appearing with him on the “Slow Dancing” stage at Mnet’s “M Countdown”.

ARMYs are now sharing condolences and reactions following Yeontan’s passing.

On another note, V is currently serving in the military as an active-duty soldier, assigned to the Special Forces Unit of the Military Police Corps. His military service is set to end on June 10, 2025.
