BTS Jungkook continues to break records with his solo debut album “GOLDEN” after a year of its release!
The World Music Awards (WMA) and Chart Data, a real-time music chart tracker, have officially announced that BTS member Jungkook has surpassed 1 million regular album sales in the United States.
The 27-year-old global star reached this impressive feat with his debut full-length album “GOLDEN,” released on November 3, 2023.
Jungkook’s debut solo album “GOLDEN” has made history in the US music market by becoming the first and fastest K-pop solo album to surpass 1 million sales.
“GOLDEN” achieved record-breaking sales in the United States. It became the first album by a K-pop solo artist to sell over 200,000 copies in its first week of release.
Additionally, “GOLDEN” made history as the first album by a K-pop solo artist to surpass 500,000 sales in the US in 2023. Notably, all tracks from the album also exceeded 100,000 units sold in the United States.
According to sales data, “GOLDEN” has achieved the highest sales among debut albums by male artists over the past 10 years, with 8.4 million units sold.
Jungkook has achieved a groundbreaking milestone as the first K-pop solo artist to have five songs – “Standing Next To You,” “Seven,” “3D,” “Euphoria,” and “Left and Right” – surpassing 1 million units sold in the US. Moreover, “Seven” has exceeded 2 million units sold and earned a Double Platinum certification from the RIAA.
Meanwhile, Jungkook and all BTS members will resume group activities in the latter half of 2025 after discharge from the military in June.
