Acting powerhouses Ryu Jun Yeol and Sol Kyung Gu are reportedly in discussions to headline a new drama series, based on a popular webtoon.
If it is confirmed, this would mark the first collaboration between these two talented Kdrama actors.
As per an exclusive report by Daily Sports on December 17, Ryu Jun Yeol and Sol Kyung Gu have confirmed to star in a new drama “Field Mouse” and are now finalizing details.
Inspired by the classic folktale “The Mouse That Ate Fingernails”, the story follows a recluse who has been hiding from a loan shark for 10 years, only to discover someone has assumed his identity and is living his life. “Field Mouse” is a gripping thriller series adapted from Ludovico’s popular webtoon, which was serialized on Kakao Webtoon from 2017 to 2020.
Ryu Jun Yeol stars as Je Moon Jae, a recluse who emerges from a decade-long hiding to track down his impersonator.
Sol Kyung Gu takes on the role of No Ja, a ruthless moneylender who relentlessly pursues Je Moon Jae.
Ryu Jun Yeol and Sol Kyung Gu, labelmates under C-JeS Studio, are set to collaborate for the first time in “Field Mouse”. Reportedly, they each accepted their roles separately, unaware they would be starring together.
Ryu recently finished filming director Yeon Sang Ho’s “Revelation” whereas Sol wrapped up Disney+’s “Hyperknife.”
“Field Mouse” is helmed by acclaimed director Kim Hong Sun (“The Guest”, “Bait” “Money Heist Korea”) and produced by Baram Pictures, known for hits like “Castaway Diva”, “The Worst of Evil”, and “Jirisan.”
Production for “Field Mouse” is slated for the first half of next year, with the streaming platform to be revealed shortly.
