On December 25, the 37-year-old actor appeared on the popular talk show “You Quiz on the Block” to promote his upcoming drama “When The Stars Gossip.”
When speaking with hosts Yoo Jae Suk and Jo Se Ho, he shared details about the car accident he experienced early in his acting career. Min Ho opened up about the traumatic car accident he was in with fellow actor Jung Il Woo.
He shared his emotional struggles as he watched Jung Il Woo recover and achieve stardom while he was still hospitalized.
The “Boys Over Flowers” actor had a major accident right after finishing his debut project. He shared the details of the terrible accident, stating, “It was a huge accident where all the people who were in the car at fault died.” He added, “I was hospitalized for around a year, unable to do anything other than lie down on the bed.”
Yoo Jae Suk revealed he remembered Jung Il Woo sharing the story of how a drunk driver swerved into their lane and crashed into their car during a trip.
At 20 years old, Lee Min Ho’s life was forever altered by a devastating car accident that left him bedridden for a year. The incident occurred shortly after his debut in the 2006 drama “Secret Campus”.
Despite the emotional turmoil and physical challenges he faced, he made a remarkable comeback, landing the lead role in the hit 2009 drama “Boys Over Flowers”. Interestingly, he beat 300 contenders for the role.
The Kdrama heartthrob revealed he was approached and street cast by the SM Entertainment casting director three times. Lee rejected the offer as he believed he had “no talent for singing and dancing.”
Min Ho also talked about how his mother faced difficulties making ends meet during his childhood. He wanted to start working as soon as possible to help her with the finances.
On the work front, Lee Min Ho is currently promoting his upcoming drama “When The Stars Gossip” with Gong Hyo Jin, premiering on January 4.
