BLACKPINK’s Rosé Makes History as First Female K-pop Act to Reach Top 5 on Billboard HOT 100

Nearly 3 months after the release of Rosé and Bruno Mars’ smashing hit “APT.”, the upbeat song continues climbing the prestigious Billboard charts.

Inspired by a Korean drinking game, the song is now everywhere, trending across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.

Recently, it finished an 11-week run on the Billboard HOT 100, and instead of dropping in rankings, it has achieved a new peak at #5.

On January 7 (KST), Billboard released the HOT 100 chart (dated January 11) and Rosé and Bruno Mars’ “APT.” rose to No. 5, up 29 places from last week’s ranking (#34).

With this, Rosé made history as the only K-pop female act (group + solo artists) to reach the top 5 of HOT 100. If her song hits #1 on the HOT 100 in the coming weeks, she will join BTS’ Jimin and Jungkook as the only artists to top the prestigious chart.

Moreover, the song topped Billboard Global Excl. U.S. and Global 200 charts as well. In addition, the song continues to make waves on YouTube as well. “APT.”  has reached nearly 800 million viewers on YouTube and will hit the 1 billion mark soon.

“APT.” is one of the pre-release singles from her debut studio album “rosie”, which features the renowned American singer-songwriter Bruno Mars. The “Gone” singer collaborated with her labelmate Bruno and the result is a smashing hit.
