EXO’s beloved member Kai has officially returned from his military service, and he wasted no time reconnecting with fans.
In his hugely-awaited first live broadcast since discharge, the 31-year-old singer and dancer talked about his time during the alternative service, weight gain, and future plans.
He went live on EXO’s official channel with “KAI: Happily Ever After” on February 11, his first live broadcast since returning from military service.
The EXO member walked down the stairs with a bouquet, greeting his fans with a warm “EXO-L!” He asked how they were doing, and received heartfelt responses from fans.
Kai got emotional and broke down in tears as he reunited with fans after such a long time.
He opened up about his time in the military, revealing that he gained weight up to 78 kg, but had since lost it to get in shape for his fans. The “Rover” singer added that maintaining his physical health and mental health was a top priority.
He shared another lighthearted update, revealing he has switched from lattes to iced Americanos in the morning. He playfully apologized to fans who might have followed his old coffee habit. Kai explained that he made the change to cut down on milk.

Regarding his future plans, Kai revealed, “I have been preparing for the album and making various plans like concerts, so I think I will try to run without taking a day off. I will be able to meet you all soon.”
He added, “During my time in the military, I was able to understand your feelings more deeply. I have become more aware of things I did not notice before.”
As a member of EXO and a solo artist, Kai has achieved worldwide fame and released a string of hit songs like “Mmmh,” “Peaches,” and “Rover”.
Following his basic training at the Army Training Center in May 2023, he served as a community service officer and was discharged on February 10.
Meanwhile, Kai is confirmed to make a solo comeback in the second quarter of this year.
