According to an exclusive report by SPOTV News on February 18, RIIZE member Sohee is leaving his role as an MC on Mnet’s music program ‘M Countdown’.
The 21-year-old singer has been hosting “M Countdown” since January 2024, alongside Myung Jaehyun of BOYNEXTDOOR and Sung Hanbin of ZEROBASEONE. The trio won over global viewers with their bright and lively chemistry. They received the nickname “Shine Mongtocat” for their sparkling on-screen presence.
As per reports, Sohee bids farewell to his role as MC on “M Countdown” to concentrate on RIIZE’s upcoming activities. His final broadcast is set for February 27, where he is expected to share his heartfelt thoughts and gratitude after holding the mic for over a year.
M Countdown is a live weekly music program that airs on Mnet every Thursday at 6:00 PM KST. Many popular Korean artists took hosting duties such as Nam Yoon Su, Joohoney, Miyeon, Key, BamBam, and more.
Sohee, the main vocalist of K-pop group RIIZE, is a fan favorite globally, and his adorable, boyish charm has made him a hot topic on entertainment shows.
RIIZE has gained huge popularity since their debut in September 2023. The 6-member K-pop group is known for their hits like “Love 119”, “Talk Saxy”, “Get a Guitar”, “Boom Boom Bass”, and more.
RIIZE underwent a lineup change with Seunghan’s departure last year; now, they will continue as a 6-member group. They will release more songs this year and likely go on a world tour.
