Ailee is back with a brand-new album, and it’s shaping up to be her most personal project yet.
What makes this album extra special is the creative collaboration with renowned producer Pdogg, known for his work with BTS.
Ailee’s new album, “(Me)moir”, will be released on March 20th. The entire album was produced by Pdogg, a BIGHIT MUSIC producer. He composed and arranged all the tracks, including “MMI”, “Illusion”, and “Meaning”.
The 35-year-old singer has collaborated with various top Korean composers since her debut with “Heaven” 13 years ago. However, her latest album is the first to feature songs produced exclusively by a single producer.
Pdogg was extensively involved in the album production. He not only composed and produced it but also arranged the tracks and played keyboard and synthesizer on each song. Fans are looking forward to seeing how her collaboration with the producer who put K-pop on the global map turns out to be.
Pdogg has worked as a composer and producer on various BTS group and solo songs. He is known for producing many hits such as “Life Goes On”, “Spring Day”, “Fake Love”, “IDOL”, and more. In addition, he worked as a composer for BTS’ Jimin’s song “Who”, which has been on Billboard HOT 100 for over 30 weeks.
Ailee spent around a year working on this album, honing her vocals and performances. She also experimented with new elements to create a fresh sound.
Her mini-album “(Me)moir” is a play on words, combining “me” with “memoir”. The title suggests the album is a personal reflection on her life, both as Lee Ye Jin and as the artist Ailee.
Meanwhile, her 7th mini-album “(Me)moir” is set to hit music platforms on March 20. Ailee will tie the knot with “Single’s Inferno” contestant and businessman Choi Si Hun on April 20.
