j-hope debuted an unreleased song, “Mona Lisa”, during his highly-anticipated performance in New York.
The BTS rapper and dancer kicked off her American leg of the world tour “HOPE ON THE STAGE” with a show in Brooklyn at Barclays Center on March 13 (local time).
He surprised ARMYs by performing the new song titled “Mona Lisa” during the first show. While j-hope previously announced releasing two more songs this year, nobody expected that he would give a sneak peek so soon.
The crowd was captivated by the ‘Mona Lisa’, dancing and singing along to the catchy song and its slick choreography.
The teaser for the upcoming song was also displayed, however, the release date or additional details are yet to be announced. Regarding the new song, he shared, “This song is just me expressing my love, simply put, you are my masterpiece. My own Mona Lisa.”
Since his military discharge on October 17, 2024, the 31-year-old K-pop star has released two songs. His first release was a collaboration single “LV Bag” by Dony Toliver and Speedy featuring BTS j-hope and Pharrell Williams.
In addition, j-hope dropped “Sweet Dreams” ft. Miguel on March 7 before kicking off the US tour. Since BTS activities are on pause for a few months, he is working on his solo projects including a full-length album.
Besides debuting as a member of BTS in 2013, j-hope is actively pursuing a career as a solo artist as well. He released a mixtape “Hope World” in March 2018, followed by the release of the studio album “Jack In The Box” in 2022.
During his military service, he released a special album “HOEP ON THE STREET VOL. 1” in March 2024. He also received praise for his collaboration with Becky G on the single “Chicken Noodle Soup” and J. Cole on “On The Street”.
Meanwhile, j-hope will hold the second show in Brooklyn on March 14 (local time). Next, the world tour “HOPE ON THE STAGE” continues with performances in Chicago (March 17-18), Mexico City (March 22-23), San Antonio (March 26-27), and more. Details about the new song “Mona Lisa” will be likely released by BIGHIT MUSIC in the coming weeks.
