Cambodian girl group 4EVER is under fire for borrowing heavily from ATEEZ’s ‘Ice On My Teeth’ music video.
The K-pop boy group released ‘Ice on My Teeth’ as the lead single from their 11th mini-album “GOLDEN HOUR : Part.2”. The 6-track album was released on November 15 last year.
More recently, Cambodian girl group 4EVER released the MV teaser for their debut single “Silly Love Game”. A 26-second teaser has ignited debate that the music video is heavily copied from “Ice On My Teeth’.
The similarities between 4EVER’s music video and ATEEZ’s ‘Ice on My Teeth’ are impossible to overlook. The matching font, chess theme, and background settings are too alike to be a coincidence. “Silly Love Game” from 4EVER will drop on March 21, and it is already making headlines for all the wrong reasons.
The comment section is filled with comments from ATINYs, saying, “You can’t be like ATEEZ because ATEEZ THE KINGS”, “It’s ATEEZ MV”, “You steal from ATEEZ”, and more. The majority of comments under the teaser are from fans, accusing them of plagiarism.
Notably, this is not the first time the group’s music video has been copied by a foreign artist. Previously, Eltee Skhillz’s 2022 “Odg” was heavily inspired by ATEEZ’s songs “The Real” and “Say My Name”. He even credited the aforementioned as the inspiration behind the Nigerian song “Odg”.
On the other hand, 4EVER’s agency K’ve Entertainment has yet to comment on the plagiarism accusations.
Meanwhile. ATEEZ debuted in October 2018 with the release of “Treasure Ep.1: All to Zero”. They are known for their hit songs such as “HALA HALA”, “Wonderland”, “Wave”, “Utopia”, “Eternal Sunshine”, and more. The group catapulted to global fame with their historic performance at Coachella last year.
