Kim Soo Hyun Takes Legal Action Against Garosero Institute and Kim Sae Ron’s Family

Kim Soo Hyun has been the subject of criticism following allegations that he dated Kim Sae Ron while she was underage. The actress tragically passed away on his birthday, February 16.

Recently, the YouTube channel HOVERLAB released private photos and videos of the couple from their relationship. Although Kim Soo Hyun’s agency Gold Medalist previously denied dating rumors, they acknowledged their relationship in a statement last week. They refuted claims that the relationship began while Kim Sae Ron was in middle school, stating that it started after she turned 18 in 2018-2019.

In an additional statement released this week, they refuted claims that they pressured her into paying 700 million won debt. Previously, Garo Sero Institute (Gaseyeon) revealed that Gold Medalist sent her a certified letter, demanding the repayment of 700 million won. The agency paid 700 million won as compensation in 2022 when she was involved in a DUI incident.

Garo Sero also revealed text messages sent to Kim Soo Hyun by Kim Sae Ron when she received the certified notice. She requested him not to sue her as her acting career was on pause. The “Queen of Tears” did not respond to any of the messages and Gold Medalist allegedly refrained from contacting artists under the agency.

The YouTube channel HOVERLAB also released a photo of Kim Soo Hyun without pants in Kim Sae Ron’s kitchen as evidence of their relationship.  Gold Medalist has repeatedly hinted at legal action and has now officially filed a criminal lawsuit against Garo Sero Institute and Kim Sae Ron’s family.

On March 20 at 6 PM, Gold Medalist released an official statement, “We’ve filed a complaint against Kim Sae Eui, the operator of the YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute, who posted a photo of Kim Soo Hyun taken without his pants during a live broadcast, and against the late actress Kim Sae Ron’s family and an unidentified individual claiming to be Kim Sae Ron’s aunt, who provided the photo to Kim Sae Eui.”

The agency added, “The photo was taken during Kim Soo Hyun’s relationship with the late actress Kim Sae Ron, and it is a picture that can cause Kim Soo Hyun sexual shame and humiliation.”

The agency also stated, “We have been refraining from taking legal action against the late Kim Sae Ron’s family out of respect for her sudden passing. However, the unauthorized distribution of Kim Soo Hyun’s photo is a serious act that cannot be overlooked, and we have no choice but to take legal action against Kim Sae Ron’s family.”

The controversy surrounding Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron’s relationship has taken a dramatic turn. Bervead family, through Gaseyeon, has accused the 27-year-old actor of dating the late actress while she was a minor. They have released a compromising, allegedly Kim Soo Hyun, at Kim Sae Rn’s home, without his pants.

The agency has been denying a romantic relationship between the two since March last year. When an intimate photo was shared by the “Kiss Sixth Sense” actress on Instagram in March 2024, they denied the rumors saying it was taken when she was under Gold Medalist.

Initially denying the dating rumors, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency eventually admitted to the relationship on March 14. However, they vehemently denied dating while Kim Sae Ron was a minor. The controversy is far from over as the public eagerly awaits further information and evidence.
