On March 28, OSEN exclusively reported that Jun Ji Hyun had received the script and began discussions about joining the cast of the upcoming drama “Human X Gumiho” (Working title). Meanwhile, Ji Chang Wook is being eyed for the male lead role and is currently reviewing the offer.

Jun Ji Hyun has been a top Kdrama actress for almost 30 years, but she is known for choosing her projects carefully.  This year, she’s making a big comeback with two exciting projects: the Disney+ series “Tempest” and director Yeon Sang Ho’s new film “Colony.”  With “Human X Gumiho” also in the works, it looks like she is ready to be more active in her career than ever before.

On the other hand, Ji Chang Wook needs no introduction. He has been active in the industry for around two decades. Ji has worked in many iconic Kdramas such as “Healer”, “Suspicious Partner”, “Welcome to Samdal-ri”, “Gangnam B-Side”, and more.

Interestingly, he is also working with the “Legend of the Blue Sea” actress on the film “Colony”, slated to release next year. In addition, the 37-year-old actor will appear in three dramas “The Manipulated”, “Scandal”, and “Mr. Right”.

While details about the plot and broadcast plans have not been announced, it is revealed that the drama will be penned by writer Im Mea Ri. She is known for writing “Doom At Your Service” (starring Seo In Guk and Park Bo Young) and “The Beauty Inside” (starring Seo Hyun Jin and Lee Min Ki).

Writer Im Mea Ri got her start in the industry by working as an assistant writer for Kim Eun Sook, known for hits like “Secret Garden”, “Goblin”, and “The Glory”.

High-Zium Studio will be in charge of producing “Human x Gumiho”. The production company has produced numerous hits such as “Doctor Slump”, “Mr. Plankton”, “Start-Up”, “Family By Choice”, and more. It is confirmed that Im Mae Ri’s new project will be a fantasy drama, given her history of writing in that genre.

All eyes are on whether Jun Ji Hyun and Ji Chang Wook will team up again in “Human X Gumiho”, after already being cast together in the upcoming film “Colony”.
