Ahead of his solo concert at LA’s BMO Stadium, j-hop stopped to watch a basketball game between the LA Lakers and Golden State Warriors.
On April 3 (local time), the BTS rapper attended the NBA game and cheered on the LA Lakers. This is not the first time BTS has shown support for the LA Lakers. Previously, Suga attended the basketball match when he was on the “D-Day” tour in 2023. Later, he became the brand ambassador for NBA.
j-hope, who also serves as a Louis Vuitton ambassador, donned a custom LV outfit by Pharrell Williams. Importantly, a beautiful moment was shared on the NBA’s official Instagram, Luka Doncic gifted j-hope a unique and special present. The Slovenian basketball star presented the BTS rapper with an unreleased pair of basketball sneakers, personalized with Doncic’s initials “LD”.
The “Mona Lisa” rapper looked quite excited as he received the exclusive gift from the NBA star. The clip also showed j-hope unwrapping the pair of exclusive sneakers featuring a white, neon green, and black design. When Luka handed over the gift, he casually mentioned, “These aren’t out yet.”
In addition, he took to Instagram Stories to share highlights from his night, including a personalized Lakers jersey with his name and birth year “94” printed on the back. Unfortunately, the LA Lakers lost their match against the Golden State Warriors due to Stephan Curry’s phenomenal performance.
Fans expressed their excitement with comments like “j-hope and NBA is cool”, “Luka and j-hope? What in the multiverse”, and more.
Meanwhile, j-hope will conclude his North American leg of the world tour “HOPE ON THE STAGE” with two sold-out shows in LA at BMO Stadium on April 4 and 6. He is the first K-pop soloist to hold a concert at BMO Stadium, with a capacity of 22000 spectators. Then, he will kick off the Asia leg of the tour with shows in Manila (April 12, 13), Saitama (April 19, 20), Singapore (April 26, 27), and more.
