The brightest stars from all around the globe gathered at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art to attend the Met Gala 2025, the Super Bowl of Fashion.
Hosted by Vogue editor Anna Wintour, the famous night saw viral fashion moments and some questionable style choices. Alongside globally renowned artists, four K-pop stars Jennie, Lisa, Rosé, and S.Coups walked the Met Gala 2025 red carpet.
As always, some stars stuck to the theme, others missed the dress code memo and made the worst-dressed celebrities list.
This year’s Met Gala theme, ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,’ dives into the rich history of Black dandyism – from its roots in the 1700s to its Harlem Renaissance heyday and how it still influences fashion today.
The dress code, ‘Tailored For You,’ gave celebs room to put their own spin on classic suiting while supporting the Met’s new exhibition.
All K-pop Met Gala 2025 Looks, Ranked From Best to Worst
For the 2025 Met Gala, BLACKPINK’s Rosé and Jennie returned to the event, while bandmate Lisa and SEVENTEEN’s S.Coups made their debuts on the iconic red carpet.
Best Dressed
SEVENTEEN’s S.Coups
S.Coups (real name Choi Seungcheol) from SEVENTEEN had the most understated Met Gala look, which really should have gotten more praise. Even though he hadn’t been to a fashion event this big before, the SEVENTEEN leader nailed it as a first-time Met attendee. Amongst all the K-pop attendees, his look had a meaning and Korean influences.
He stood out at his first Met Gala with one of the night’s most on-themed looks. S.Coups arrived in a thoughtful all-grey custom BOSS ensemble that reimagined traditional Korean hanbok through contemporary menswear.
The sleek grey look featured a structured jacket inspired by the traditional jeogori paired with graceful, wide-leg trousers and a sweeping floor-length cape. The star kept the accessories minimal with only a diamond-encrusted Piaget watch.
LA-based stylist Zoë Hennessey called his look a “perfect fusion of Korean tailoring with elements of Black fashion.”
Jennie of BLACKPINK
Unlike S.Coups, Jennie did not bring culture to the Met Gala 2025 red carpet. However, that does not mean she did not nail the look. This was her third time gracing the stairs of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. While she opted for a Custom Alaïa dress in 2024, Jennie served in a bespoke black and white Chanel tuxedo gown this year.
The K-pop star and longtime Chanel muse wore a black satin jumpsuit with pearl embellishments and a jeweled camellia flower, paired with a taffeta-lined overskirt. The look referenced Coco Chanel’s 1920s and 1930s designs, complete with a two-tone hat and pumps. Crafted in over 300 hours, the ensemble had the right amount of drama needed for the biggest night of fashion.
All the major publications, including Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and People Magazine, praised her theme-appropriate look.
Could-Have-Been-Better
Rosé
While Rosé was not among the worst looks of the night, she could have certainly done better. Her sleek Saint Laurent tuxedo, though impeccably tailored, lacked the daring edge. Her return to the Met Gala after 4 years came without any dramatic styling risk. By now, we have seen Rosé nail tuxedo looks multiple times, and it was her time to experiment with something new.
The 28-year-old pop star tried to amp up the look with a cape, Tiffany & Co. necklace, red-heeled sandals, and beachy mermaid hair. The overall look was very Rosé, and it might have worked for any other red carpet, just not the Met Gala.
Worst Dressed
Lisa
Lisa’s Met Gala debut was marred by controversy as netizens noticed the face of American activist Rosa Parks on her panties. Many called her look tone-deaf as it was simply not the best way to pay tribute to the African American civil rights activist by having her face embroidered on an undergarment.
Besides that, it barely had anything dandy-esque about it, and the outfit screamed Louis Vuitton with the French brand’s monogram plastered all over it – and if it wasn’t any clearer, the bag was laden with LV logos.
Lisa has served better looks at numerous red carpets abroad, including the Oscars 2025, VMAs, and “The White Lotus” season 3 premiere. While the overall outfit was blingy and statement-making, it was just not right for Met
