It has left fans with many lingering questions about Wednesday’s journey, Tyler’s return, Lady Gaga’s cameo role, mother-daughter clash, and more importantly, will the audience get to see another viral dance? Things seem even spookier in the second season as new characters will shake things up this season.

The Addams Family spinoff series exclusively premiered on Netflix on November 23, 2022. It became the third most-watched English title within two weeks of debut, only surpassed by Stranger Things and Monster — Dahmer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.

Nearly three years later, Wednesday Season 2 will premiere on Netflix, with Jenna Ortega not only returning as the lead character but also the executive producer.

Wednesday Season 2 Release Date

Netflix has confirmed Wednesday Season 2 will premiere in two parts:

  • Part 1: August 6, 2025
  • Part 2: September 3, 2025

The split release follows Netflix’s successful strategy with shows like Stranger Things and The Witcher to maintain buzz between drops.

New and Returning Cast

Jenna Ortega leads the returning cast as Wednesday Addams, the deadpan Addams family heir.

Returning Cast Members

Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams

The deadpan, pigtailed protagonist returns with her signature morbid humor and sharp investigative skills. This season will explore her evolving psychic visions and complicated relationship with her mother, Morticia.

Jenna donned the producer’s hat for the second season and was heavily involved in the script, the character’s development, and even outfits. In an interview with Variety, the 22-year-old actress shared that they will lean into the more “horror aspect of the show” and “ditch the romantic love interest.”

Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams

The elegant and enigmatic matriarch takes on a larger role this season, clashing with Wednesday over her rebellious nature while hiding dark family secrets of her own.

Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams

Wednesday’s passionate and eccentric father remains her biggest cheerleader, though his unwavering loyalty to Morticia creates tension with his daughter.

Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams

Now enrolled at Nevermore Academy, Wednesday’s younger brother struggles to control his emerging electrokinetic powers while navigating sibling rivalry.

Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair

Wednesday’s colorful werewolf roommate returns with a stronger friendship dynamic, though new threats at Nevermore test their bond.

Percy Hynes White as Xavier Thorpe

The brooding artist and psychic struggles with his unrequited feelings for Wednesday while dealing with the fallout from Season 1’s events.

Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin

Hyde’s return raises questions about his true nature—is he a victim or a villain? His reappearance forces Wednesday to confront unfinished business.

New Additions to the Cast

Steve Buscemi as Principal Dort

Nevermore’s new headmaster brings a quirky, unsettling energy to the school. His mysterious past and strict policies immediately put him at odds with Wednesday. The position for the new dean opened up after Wheems (Gwendoline Christie) died in season 1.

Lady Gaga in a Secret Role

Rumored to be playing a powerful witch or a long-lost Addams relative, not much is known about her character. Early reports suggest she will be a major antagonist.

Christopher Lloyd as Uncle Fester’s Twin Brother

The Back to the Future legend joins as a previously unknown Addams family member. Christopher Lloyd played the role of Uncle Fester in 90s Addams Family films alongside Christina Ricci

Joanna Lumley as Grandmama Hester Frump

Morticia’s mother arrives with her own brand of macabre wisdom. She stirs up trouble between Wednesday and her parents with cryptic warnings.

In addition, Joy Sunday, Hunter Dohoon, Billie Piper, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, Georgie Farmer, Moosa Mostafa, and more will star in the series.

Wednesday Season 2 Plot Twists

According to the official guide by Netflix, Wednesday Season 2 is set to deliver major twists that will shake up Nevermore Academy and the Addams family dynamics. The new season finds Wednesday facing unexpected challenges when her little brother Pugsley enrolls at the school. He brings his unpredictable electrokinetic powers that already show signs of causing trouble – as seen in teasers where he accidentally zaps a stop sign.

Family tensions reach new heights as Wednesday’s parents, Morticia and Gomez, become more involved at Nevermore. The strained mother-daughter relationship between Wednesday and Morticia escalates to the point where they literally cross swords in a dramatic fencing duel.

Meanwhile, the arrival of Morticia’s formidable mother, Grandmama Hester Frump, adds another layer of complexity to the family dynamics. However, she appears to be one of the few relatives Wednesday actually enjoys seeing.

This season of Wednesday gets darker, with Wednesday facing personal demons and supernatural threats. Tyler Galpin’s return after his Hyde transformation raises questions – will he seek revenge or redemption? Expect complex emotional struggles, family conflicts, and new mysteries at Nevermore.
