Disney+ has revealed the release date and first teaser poster for its upcoming Korean original series The Manipulated on Monday, September 22.
It offers fans a look at the fierce standoff between Ji Chang Wook and Doh Kyung Soo, also known as D.O. from EXO. The image immediately drew attention for its intense mood and symbolic black-and-white contrast.
The Manipulated Release Date
The Manipulated, starring Ji Chang Wook and Doh Kyung Soo, will run for 12 episodes, with the first four releasing on November 5 on Disney+. After the premiere, two episodes will be unveiled weekly every Wednesday before the drama concludes on December 3.
Plot Overview
The drama tells the story of Tae Joong, played by Ji Chang Wook, who sees his ordinary life collapse after being falsely accused of a terrible crime. Wrongly imprisoned, he discovers that the mastermind behind his suffering is Yohan, portrayed by Doh Kyung Soo. Driven by rage, Tae Joong embarks on a dangerous mission to take revenge on the man who ruined him.
Teaser Poster
The Manipulated poster captures the heated clash between the two leads. Tae Joong glares with fury as he launches a punch, while Yohan blocks the attack with a twisted grin. Their standoff emphasizes both Tae’s desperation and Yohan’s sinister control.
For Ji Chang Wook, the role of Tae-joong offers a chance to portray a man consumed by pain and anger as he transforms into someone hardened by betrayal. Doh Kyung Soo, meanwhile, takes on his first full villain role and reveals a cold and manipulative side unlike anything audiences have seen from him before.
Supporting cast members Kim Jong Soo, Jo Yoon Soo, and Lee Kwang Soo add further weight to the project. Behind the scenes, The Manipulated is penned by writer Oh Sang Ho (Taxi Driver, The Roundup) and directors Park Shin Woo (The Killing Vote) and Kim Chang Joo at the helm.
Mark your calendar for November 5 when The Manipulated airs exclusively on Disney+.
