It looks like BLACKPINK fans might have to wait just a little longer for the group’s long-awaited comeback. According to several Korean media outlets, the global K-pop superstars — Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa — are now preparing to release their new album in mid-December 2025. YG’s executive producer, Yang Hyun Suk, previously stated that they will release an album in November.

The news has frustrated some fans since they have been waiting for years. This comeback would mark BLACKPINK’s first full-group release in over three years, following their 2022 album BORN PINK.

BLACKPINK’s Comeback Reportedly Pushed to Mid-December

On October 16, Xports News reported that BLACKPINK is finalizing preparations for their next group album, aiming for a December release. Originally, the plan was to drop a digital single in the second half of 2025 — which they did with “JUMP” in July — followed by a full album later in the year.

However, due to the group’s packed world tour schedule, the timeline appears to have shifted slightly. BLACKPINK has been performing in various continents on their “DEADLINE” world tour. The tour has included massive stadium stops in North America and Europe. Upcoming shows will be held in Kaohsiung, Bangkok, Jakarta, Bulacan, Singapore, Tokyo, and Hong Kong.

The group’s relentless schedule is believed to be one of the main reasons behind the adjustment. Reports now suggest that fans can expect the new album to arrive in mid-December. This will give the members more time to finish recording and promotions while wrapping up their tour.

YG Responds to BLACKPINK’s Comeback Delay

So far, YG Entertainment has not confirmed the exact release date. When asked about the comeback reports, a representative from YG told News1,

“Nothing has been confirmed.”

That brief statement doesn’t deny the news entirely — it simply means the agency isn’t ready to make it official yet. Still, with multiple media outlets reporting similar timelines, it seems likely that something big is indeed coming in December.

Fans are especially excited because this will be BLACKPINK’s first group album since September 2022, when they released BORN PINK. That record included massive hits like “Shut Down” and “Pink Venom,” which dominated global charts and broke streaming records.

Earlier this year, the group released their digital single “JUMP” — a hard-hitting, EDM-infused track co-produced with Diplo. The song became an instant fan favorite and topped both Korean and international charts.

What makes BLACKPINK’s upcoming album even more impressive is how much the members have on their plates. All four members are currently active under their own individual agencies, focusing on solo projects and endorsements, while YG Entertainment oversees their group activities.

Since renewing their group contract in 2023, the members have been busy with solo music releases, acting projects, and brand campaigns. Yet, they have still managed to reunite for the DEADLINE world tour and work on new group music.

The tour itself has been a massive success. After starting in Goyang, South Korea, it expanded to North America and Europe, including historic shows at London’s Wembley Stadium. The group is now continuing their Asia leg in Kaohsiung this weekend.
