The nominees for the 2025 MAMA Awards were officially announced on October 16, 2025, during a special live nomination broadcast.
Hosted by music critic Kim Young Dae and announcer Lee Hye Sung, the broadcast was streamed worldwide on Mnet’s official YouTube channels. Right after the show, the first round of voting, called “FANS’ CHOICE,” opened at 6 PM KST and will run until October 26. Fans can cast their votes through the Mnet Plus app or by using special hashtags on X (formerly Twitter).
The MAMA Awards celebrate the best in K-pop across multiple categories, with the most prestigious being the Daesang (Grand Prizes)—including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year. Winners will be chosen based on global fan votes, music performance metrics, and evaluations from a panel of industry experts.
Eligible releases for this year’s awards were those that came out between October 1, 2024, and September 30, 2025.
The grand ceremony is set for November 28 and 29 at Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong, marking MAMA’s return to the city after several years. With a capacity of around 50,000, the venue promises a massive, star-studded celebration.
