Im Siwan and Seol In Ah may soon share the screen in a new tvN romantic comedy. According to Xport News on October 24, the two actors are currently reviewing offers to play the lead roles in “Why Don’t You Know He’s a She?”.
It is a drama adaptation of a popular web novel and webtoon known for its clever humor and unique premise. The series is scheduled to air on tvN sometime next year.
The story follows Yoon Yi Joon (played by Im Siwan), the third-generation heir of a major conglomerate, who suddenly becomes a suspect in the murder of his secretary. Despite his privileged background, Yi Joon lives a rather lonely life. While he is known as a cold, mysterious man, his life turns upside down when a new secretary shows up — one who’s not quite who she seems
Kang Jae Hee (played by Seol In Ah) is a former special forces officer known for her strength and combat skills. She is called in to secretly investigate Yi Joon — but to do so, she disguises herself as his male secretary and bodyguard.
Im Siwan has proven time and again that he can take on just about any role. The former ZE:A member has seamlessly transitioned from idol life to an acclaimed actor.
He has taken on a wide range of roles, from emotional dramas to dark thrillers. His recent projects include “Mantis,” “Boyhood,” “Honey Sweet,” “Road to Boston,” and more. He also gained global fame through “Squid Game” seasons 2 and 3, where he portrayed a quietly intense and mysterious character. Besides all, he is set to return to his musical roots with a solo comeback soon.
In “Why Don’t You Know He’s a She?,” he plays a man who appears detached on the surface but hides a surprisingly tender personality. It is a role that fits Siwan’s calm and thoughtful acting style.
Seol In Ah (a.k.a Seorina) can balance light comedy and serious drama with ease. She recently appeared in “Oh My Ghost Clients,” “Twinkling Watermelon,” and the popular show “Oasis.” Many viewers still remember her as the lovable Jin Young Seo in “Business Proposal.”
Off-screen, Seol In-ah has also been showing her athletic side through “Iron Girls 2,” where she trained as a boxer.
