THE BOYZ is currently in a serious contract dispute with their agency, One Hundred. Eight members (except New) took steps to end their exclusive contracts. The group took the decision after weeks of failed negotiations and growing concerns over unpaid earnings and lack of support.
On March 19, it was reported by The Fact that members Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, Q, Sunwoo, and Eric sent a certified notice to the agency in February. In the letter, they stated their intention to terminate their contracts, citing serious breaches by the company and a breakdown of trust that could not be repaired. THE BOYZ moved to One Hundred in December 2024 after leaving IST Entertainment.
According to the members’ side, the main issue revolves around unpaid settlement funds. They claim the agency has not paid them properly for several months and has failed to provide clear explanations. The members also said they requested access to important documents, including settlement statements and contract-related records. However, the agency did not respond adequately for over a month.
Despite the dispute, the group continued to carry out their schedules during this period. The members said they chose to do so out of responsibility to fans and partners. However, as talks with the agency did not progress, they ultimately decided to move forward with contract termination.
The members further claimed that the agency had not fulfilled its basic responsibilities as a management company. They pointed to a lack of support for ongoing activities, including delays in covering staff expenses and other operational costs. Even so, they emphasized that they would continue with already scheduled events. This will perform at the upcoming concerts to avoid causing harm to fans and third parties.
However, the agency strongly disputes these claims. One Hundred Label stated that it cannot accept the members’ request to terminate their contracts. The company argued that it has continued to provide support, including vehicles, managers, and practice facilities. It claimed that the members themselves rejected this support.
The agency also pointed to difficulties in group activities caused by past controversies involving some members. Last year, Haknyeon was removed from the group after getting embroiled in a prostitution scandal. Member Sunwoo was accused of rude behavior and engaged in a public fight with Nana. According to the company, these issues affected the group’s operations and led to financial strain. It claimed that it made efforts to maintain the group’s activities despite facing losses.
In addition, the agency denied allegations regarding financial misconduct, including claims about the misuse of dormitory-related funds. It described such accusations as false and malicious.
Amid the dispute, one member has chosen a different path. New will remain with the agency and maintain his exclusive contract. His legal representative stated that the members respect each other’s decisions and will continue to cooperate where necessary for the sake of the team and fans.
This situation comes after Lee Taemin previously left a label associated with the same management. His departure had already drawn attention to internal issues within the company. Other artists, VIVIZ, BEO, and Lee Mujin, have also sent notices of contract termination.
