With this announcement, the label is sending a clear message that they will not tolerate online harassment and hate speech and those responsible will face legal consequences.

On April 28, BIGHIT MUSIC shared an official statement, announcing legal action to protect the rights and interests of BTS.

The agency stated, “Recently, a number of systematic movements have been detected to defame and slander the BTS.”

Furthermore, it was disclosed that the level of hate and defamation towards BTS has crossed the line, stating, “Along with this, malicious slander and rumors against artists, spreading false information, indiscriminate insults,” and added, “ridicule are going over the line.”

The agency revealed that they will be appointing another law firm to take legal action, “We believe this issue is a serious violation of the artist’s reputation,” and added, “We will take stern action by appointing an additional law firm in addition to the existing legal action.”

Lastly, BIGHIT MUSIC shared that they are monitoring malicious posts directed at artists and collecting evidence.

Last year in September 2023, BIGHIT MUSIC announced a zero-tolerance policy for perpetrators of hate.
