The Burning Sun scandal resurfaced after BBC recently released a documentary, revealing details that were not made public before.
More recently, Ling Cheng, a Hong Kong influencer, has shared his personal account of a night spent at the Burning Sun Club.
On May 22, she shared a long post on her social media account, sharing, “The BBC revealed the inside story of the ‘Burning Sun incident’ through a documentary. It reminded me of my own experience and sent a chill down my spine the whole time.”
She shared personally captured photos from her 2018 visit to the controversial Burning Sun Club. The photos, taken by Ling herself, reveal a packed club scene with a man believed to be Seungri spinning tracks at the DJ booth. She also shared a photo of the exclusive VVIP entrance bracelet he wore that night.
She recalled that Seungri was the DJ that evening and the club was crowded with people.
She mentioned how many people in the club were wearing black sunglasses and biting on pacifiers. Her friend explained that it was to hide the effects of drug use like rolling eyes or biting one’s tongue.
She also brought up the shady connection between the police and Burning Sun. When Ling Cheng asked his friend why the police didn’t arrest drug users, the response was that the police often turn a blind eye to activities in clubs like this.

She shared, “I lost her memory after drinking two glasses of champagne at the club bar. I didn’t drink as much as usual. I got drunk abnormally quickly. I remember wondering if I had taken drugs. Fortunately, my group left the club right away and reported the loss of my wallet to the police.”
In her post, she advised Hong Kong friends not to go to Gangnam clubs because of her past experience at Burning Sun.
He also posted a photo of the late singer Goo Hara and hoped that everyone would remember her brave acts. Goo Hara played a major role in exposing suspicions of collusion between the police and entertainment establishments.
On May 19, BBC News Korea released a documentary, revisiting the key figures of the Burning Sun Gate scandal in 2019. The documentary caused quite a stir and has garnered nearly 9 million views.
