Get ready, MYs—because aespa is heading back to American television. On September 6, the South Korean girl group will appear as guests on ABC’s Good Morning America. Karina, Winter, Giselle, and Ningning are set to bring their energy straight to Times Square, where they’ll perform their latest single, “Better Things,” live on the show.
The announcement came from GMA on August 30, and instantly sent fans into excitement online. It’s a big moment not only for MYs but also for aespa themselves. Appearing on one of America’s most-watched morning shows is a huge opportunity for the group to reach a wider U.S. audience.
Of course, this isn’t their first time on the show. aespa already made history last year when they became the first K-pop girl group to perform on the Good Morning America Summer Concert Series. They made a splash with powerful choreography, flawless visuals, and confident presence. It’s no surprise people are looking forward to seeing them return.
Their appearance also lines up perfectly with their current U.S. activities. aespa is touring America for their SYNK: HYPER LINE tour, which includes nine shows across North America. Since they are already in the States, fans have been hoping they would make stops on popular U.S. programs, and GMA was at the top of the list.
The group has also been busy outside of touring. In August, they released their refreshing new single “Better Things,” which has been gaining positive attention around the world. They also made headlines by becoming the first K-pop group to appear on the cover of the British music magazine DORK.
Mark your calendar for September 6 when aespa returns to GMA.
