aespa is set to sweep music charts once again with their next comeback!

On September 23 at midnight, SM Entertainment dropped the first teaser for their upcoming 5th mini-album, Whiplash, on all social media platforms.

This is the aespa’s second comeback of the year after releasing their first full-length album, Armageddon on May 27.

Following the release of Armageddon, they officially debuted in Japan with the Japanese single, Hot Mess. Armageddon debuted at #25 on Billboard 200 and sold 1,154742 copies in the first week.

The group announced their upcoming comeback during the award acceptance speech at The Fact Music Awards (TMA) early this month. Karina spoiled their new comeback with Whiplash without the knowledge of SM Entertainment.

One of the title tracks Supernova of their studio album, Armageddon, is topping the Korean music charts. It achieved the perfect all-kill and secured the top spot on all major domestic music platforms including Melon, VIBE, FLO, and Genie for months.

It is predicted that aespa will win ‘Song of the Year’ awards at year-end award shows for Supernova.

More recently, the group revealed that Whiplash is a ‘cool version’ of Supernova. aespa has certainly raised expectations for their 5th mini-album Whiplash, with fans expecting another banger.

On another note, Vespa will release their new album on the same day as ILLIT’s 2nd-mini-album I’LL LIKE YOU. Whiplash will drop on major music platforms worldwide on October 21.
