Lee Soo Hyuk’s agency has released an official statement following reports that the star was overworked during his recent fan meeting in China due to poor event management.
On August 30, Lee held his first fan meeting, Eternal Magic Hour, in Hangzhou, China. The event drew massive attention, with tickets reportedly selling out within two minutes of going on sale. The fan meeting marked his first official gathering with overseas fans in nearly ten years.
However, following the event, Taiwan’s EBC reported that organizers had oversold tickets, forcing Lee Soo Hyuk to sign autographs for thousands of attendees for nearly 12 straight hours.
Eyewitness accounts also described the actor struggling with the lack of air conditioning after the cooling system broke down at the venue. Fans shared that the “S Line” actor appeared pale and exhausted as he left the site.
Despite the reported difficulties, fans praised Lee Soo Hyuk’s dedication to completing the fan meeting under tough conditions.
On September 3, his agency Saram Entertainment apologized and expressed regret in a formal statement shared through their official social media channels.
We believe that every moment shared between fans and an artist is always special and holds precious meaning. In light of this, we deeply regret the unforeseen situations that occurred during the event. Our company will do our utmost to use this incident as an opportunity to improve and move in a better direction.
Above all, we hope that the sincerity and effort put in by the artist, as well as the love and support from the fans, will not be lost despite the circumstances. We also hope that this meeting, which took ten years to come to fruition, remains a precious memory for everyone.
Taking this experience to heart, our company will work even more closely with all involved parties to do our best in preparing for better meetings in the future.
On the work front, Lee Soo Hyuk appeared in a 6-episode Wavve drama, S Line, in July. Next, he will make a cameo in BLACKPINK Jisoo’s rom-com, Boyfriend on Demand, with Seo In Guk.
