Ahn Hyo Seop has reportedly chosen his next role, and it comes at a time when his career is reaching new heights. It is the most exciting phase of his career yet, with the worldwide success of Netflix’s animated film KPop Demon Hunters and Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy.
On September 3, SPOTV News exclusively reported that Ahn Hyo Seop will star in the upcoming drama The Final Table (tentatively titled). The series will spotlight the survival competition The Table: K Chef 2026, where top Korean chefs from around the world gather to prove their skills and claim the title of best Korean chef.
In the drama, Ahn takes on the role of Kang Han, also known as Chris K., a chef who left Korea during elementary school and spent the past 25 years living abroad in mystery. As the moniker suggests, his return to Korea promises to stir up equal parts drama, introspection, and culinary artistry.
Ahn Hyo Seop’s decision to headline The Final Table comes at the peak of his career momentum. He recently voiced the most loved character Jinu in KPop Demon Hunters, which became the most-watched Netflix English-language film, and talks are underway for a trilogy.
Since debuting in the industry, Ahn Hyo Seop has steadily proven himself across multiple genres. He charmed audiences in romance dramas like Business Proposal and A Time Called You. In addition, he impressed with his portrayal of Dr. Seo Woo Jin in Dr. Romantic 3. The 30-year-old actor then took on his biggest challenge yet with the fantasy blockbuster Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy, released in July.
In Omniscient Reader, he played Kim Dok Ja, a man transported into the world of his favorite novel. The film opened at No. 1 in Korea with over 120,000 viewers on its first day.
Currently, Ahn Hyo Seop is filming the SBS drama Sold Out Again Today. Once that project concludes, he will transition directly into The Final Table. The female lead, supporting cast, and release timeline for the drama are yet to be announced.
