It’s official: all seven members of BTS have secured a spot on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart as solo artists, making history in the K-pop industry. This monumental achievement marks the first time a group has ever had all of its members reach the chart. With solo tracks from each member, BTS has demonstrated their versatility as artists and proven that they can make an impact even when working independently. From slow-paced ballads to energetic rap tracks, the members of BTS have showcased their unique talents and earned their place in music history. Jungkook (SEVEN, Left & Right)
Jungkook’s record-breaking ‘Seven (feat. Latto)‘ has achieved the highest ranking on the ‘Global 200’ and ‘Global (excluding US)’ charts released by Billboard on August 26th. The song held the number one position for five consecutive weeks, making
Jungkook the longest-running Korean solo artist to be ranked in the chart. Additionally, ‘Seven’ has also maintained its spot on the Billboard main song chart, the ‘Hot 100’, for five consecutive weeks, ranking 30th.
Besides Seven, Left and Right by Charlie Puth (feat. Jungkook) also earned a spot on the Hot 100. The song ‘Left and Right’ was a mainstay on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 17 weeks in a row.
V (Christmas Tree & Love Me Again)
V has entered the Billboard Hot 100 for two of his songs, Christmas Tree and Love Me Again. The first time V entered the Hot 100 was for his OST for the SBS Drama Our Beloved Summer starring Kim Dami and Choi Wooshik. On January 8, 2022, The OST for the drama debuted at 79th position on the Billboard Hot 100.
In addition, V’s mesmerizing track Love Me Again from his upcoming album Layover also secured a spot on the Hot 100 chart. This pre-released track debuted at 96th place at the Hot 100 and No.1 on iTunes in many countries. Additionally, It secured first place on ‘World Digital Song Sales,’ 3rd on ‘Digital Song Sales,’ 6th on ‘Global (excluding US),’ and 12th on ‘Global 200.’
Jimin (Like Crazy)
With his hit album Face, Jimin made history by becoming the first K-pop soloist to secure the 1st spot at the Billboard Hot 100. The hit track of the album Like Crazy caused a major stir and rose to the No.1 spot at the Hot 100.
SUGA (Haegeum, That That, Daechwita, Girl of My Dreams)
SUGA released an album earlier this year, containing catchy and soulful tracks. This May, Suga’s track “Haegeum” made a significant entrance on the Hot 100 chart, debuting at an impressive No. 58. That’s not it, SUGA, also known as Agust D, has achieved a major milestone in his solo career as four of his songs have made it onto Billboard’s Hot 100 chart: Daechwita, Girl of My Dreams, That That, and Haegeum.
J-Hope (On the Streets, Arson, Chicken Noodle Soup, and MORE)
Before the military enlistment, J-Hope’s single “On the Street” which featured J-Cole was able to make its debut at number 60 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. J-Hope has achieved his highest-charting solo song on the Hot 100 with this release, making it his fourth chart entry in total after “Chicken Noodle Soup” which ranked at No. 81, “MORE” at No. 82, and “Arson” at No. 96.
RM (Wild Flower)
Last Year, RM scored his first Billboard Hot 100 entry with Wild Flower (feat. Youjeen). Kim Namjoon aka RM released his first album on December 2 titled Indigo, featuring 10 tracks. Wild Flower caused quite a stir with its soulful and catchy lyrics. In addition, ‘Wildflower’ has achieved remarkable success on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales and World Digital Song Sales charts, claiming the top spot on both and placing 20th and 35th respectively on the Global Excl. U.S. and the Global 200 charts.
Jin (The Astronaut)
Jin of BTS earned his first solo entry at the Hot 100 chart with The Astronaut. His new single debuted at 51 place an broke many records.
