BTS continues to expand its record-breaking legacy in global music. As of August 2023, all seven members of the global K-pop group have officially entered the Billboard Hot 100 as solo artists. This marks the first time in history that every member of a group has achieved solo success on the chart.

Jungkook (SEVEN, Left & Right)

Jungkook’s solo debut single “Seven (feat. Latto)” made a splash worldwide, to say the least.  Released in July, the track debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, the Global 200, and Global Excl. U.S. charts. It went on to hold the top spot on the Global charts for five consecutive weeks, making Jungkook the longest-charting Korean soloist on Billboard’s Global 200.

Additionally, “Seven” has also maintained its spot on the Billboard main song chart, the ‘Hot 100’, for five consecutive weeks, ranking 30th.

Besides “Seven,” “Left and Right” by Charlie Puth (feat. Jungkook) also earned a spot on the Hot 100. The song ‘Left and Right’ was a mainstay on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 17 weeks in a row.

V (Christmas Tree & Love Me Again)

V achieved his first Billboard Hot 100 entry in January 2022 with “Christmas Tree,” the soundtrack for the SBS drama Our Beloved Summer. The drama stars his close friend Choi Woo Shik opposite Kim Da Mi. On January 8, 2022, the track debuted at No. 79, making him one of the few Korean soloists to chart an OST on Billboard.

In August 2023, he reappeared on the Hot 100 with Love Me Again, a pre-release track from Layover. This pre-released track debuted at 96th place on the Hot 100 and No.1 on iTunes in many countries. Additionally, it secured first place on ‘World Digital Song Sales,’ 3rd on ‘Digital Song Sales,’ 6th on ‘Global (excluding US),’ and 12th on ‘Global 200.’

Jimin (Like Crazy)

Jimin achieved a historic milestone with his solo single “Like Crazy” from his debut album Face. Released in March 2023, the track debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, making Jimin the first Korean solo artist in history to top the chart. The synth-pop song also performed strongly on streaming platforms globally.

SUGA (Haegeum, That That, Daechwita, Girl of My Dreams)

SUGA, under his solo alias Agust D, has multiple Hot 100 entries. His 2020 release “Daechwita” and collaborations such as “Girl of My Dreams” (#29) with Juice WRLD and “That That” (#80) with PSY all entered the chart. In May 2023, he returned with “Haegeum”, the lead single from his album D-Day, debuting at No. 58 on the Hot 100.

J-Hope (On the Streets, Arson, Chicken Noodle Soup, and MORE)

J-Hope has also secured four solo entries on the Hot 100. His collaboration with J. Cole, “On the Street,” released before his military enlistment, settled at #60, marking his highest-charting solo entry to date. Earlier tracks such as “Chicken Noodle Soup” (No. 81), “MORE” (No. 82), and “Arson” (No. 96) also earned him recognition as a strong solo artist prior to his military enlistment.

RM (Wild Flower)

Last Year, RM scored his first Billboard Hot 100 entry with Wild Flower (feat. Youjeen). Kim Namjoon, aka RM, released his first album on December 2 titled Indigo, featuring 10 tracks. Wild Flower caused quite a stir with its soulful and catchy lyrics. In addition, ‘Wildflower’ achieved remarkable success on Billboard’s Digital Song Sales and World Digital Song Sales charts, claiming the top spot on both and placing 20th and 35th, respectively, on the Global Excl. U.S. and the Global 200 charts.

Jin (The Astronaut)

Jin’s heartfelt single “The Astronaut,” co-written by Coldplay, debuted at No. 51 on the Hot 100 following its release in October 2022. The track earned strong digital sales and streaming numbers, becoming one of the highest-charting K-pop solo debuts.

Meanwhile, BTS V and Jungkook will release more solo music in the coming months. V’s Layover will hit music platforms in September, while Jungkook releases his solo album in November. Fans will witness these stars chart more solo songs on Billboard HOT 100 in the future.
