BLACKPINK’s comeback single “JUMP” has quickly become one of the biggest K-pop releases of 2025. It is their first major group track since “The Girls,” which was released in August 2023 for BLACKPINK The Game, and their first new music since their 2022 full album Born Pink.
This release begins BLACKPINK’s new global distribution era with The Orchard after wrapping up their time with Interscope.
Released on July 11, 2025, “JUMP” has broken multiple records in its first 24 hours. Despite being debuted live by Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa at their Goyang concerts ahead of the release, the song managed to shake the music scene upon its official release.
The track combines BLACKPINK’s signature sound with hardstyle EDM and a guitar riff influenced by Western themes.
BLACKPINK’s ‘JUMP’ Records Biggest YouTube Debut of 2025
Directed by Grammy award-winning Dave Meyers, the “JUMP” music video made history as the biggest YouTube MV of this year, racking up over 29.35 million views in 24 hours. The MV hit 17.65 million views in just 10 hours and amassed over 2.9 million likes within 11 hours. The “JUMP” MV broke Rosé’s previous solo record for most likes by a K-pop female act in 24 hours.
The rush of engagement was so intense that it reportedly caused a temporary glitch on YouTube where likes outpaced views.
It led to speculation that YouTube had “frozen” the view count. The platform later clarified that the mismatch was due to an unexpected surge in real-time activity, which they were working to fix. Many fans think the true 24-hour “JUMP” views could be even higher.
Chart Performance
On digital platforms, “JUMP” swept to #1 on the iTunes Top Songs charts in 50+ regions, covering Asia, Europe, and South America. It debuted at #1 on the Worldwide iTunes Song Chart, scoring 23,830 points. It was almost 10,000 points ahead of the next biggest song, Madonna’s “Gone Gone Gone.”
In the U.S., it initially reached #3, marking BLACKPINK’s highest U.S. debut for a single, while landing at #4 in the U.K., both personal bests for BLACKPINK. At the time of writing, “JUMP” is charting at No.1 on US iTunes. It landed at #32 on the Global Apple Music Daily Chart, making it the top debut by a K-pop artist so far this year.
Massive Sales in China
In China, “JUMP” broke sales records by surpassing 400,000 digital purchases on QQ Music and KuGou. It overtook aespa’s “Dirty Work” to claim the title of 2025’s best-selling K-pop group single in the country.
It also outdid BLACKPINK member Jennie’s own solo hit “like JENNIE” in the same market and received an immediate platinum certification on QQ Music.
Streaming & Domestic Charts Performance
Domestically, BLACKPINK’s single, “JUMP,” shot to #1 on Korean charts like Vibe and Bugs, while climbing steadily in the top 10 on Melon and Genie. It also topped YouTube’s Global Trending Music Videos chart and Spotify’s Today’s Top Hits playlist.
With this, BLACKPINK is the only K-pop girl group to dominate both global video and audio streams this year. As of July 12 at 3 PM KST, the song is charting at #1 on Bugs, #8 on Melon, #8 on Flo, and #9 on Genie. It scored the fifth-highest debut on Melon’s Daily Chart so far this year, entering directly at #8.
A Viral Cultural Moment
“JUMP” had its powerful live premiere during the kickoff of BLACKPINK’s large-scale DEADLINE World Tour in Goyang, South Korea.
They sold out 78,000 seats and trended #1 to #7 worldwide on X (Twitter) with fan cams of the performance going viral. To celebrate the group’s latest release, the Empire State Building in New York lit up pink in BLACKPINK’s honor.
Production and Credits
Diplo, Teddy, 24, Zikai, Jumpa, Claudia Valentina, Malachiii, and Jesse Bluu all contributed as co-writers on “JUMP.” Production team includes hitmakers like Ape Drums, Diplo, 24, Boaz Van De Beatz, and Zecca. The song blends BLACKPINK’s signature style with hardstyle EDM and a striking guitar riff that gives it a Western movie vibe.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK’s “DEADLINE” World Tour continues through North America, Europe, and Asia. Next, BLACKPINK members are set to perform in LA this weekend. More records are expected as “JUMP” charts around the world.
