ALLDAY PROJECT’s Annie Takes Study Break to Resume Classes at Columbia University

Annie Moon of ALLDAY PROJECT

Annie Moon will temporarily step away from ALLDAY PROJECT activities as she returns to Columbia University to focus on her studies during the Spring 2026 semester.

As reported by TenAsia on January 14, Annie, whose real name is Moon Doyoon, will officially end her leave of absence and resume classes at Columbia University starting around January 20.

She plans to remain in the United States until the semester concludes in May and will dedicate this period entirely to academics. The 23-year-old idol is majoring in Art History and Visual Arts at the Ivy League school.

Ahead of her departure, she is currently busy completing scheduled advertisements and photoshoots. After finishing these commitments, she is expected to leave for New York in the near future to prepare for the semester.

Annie’s enrollment at the prestigious Ivy League school is intrinsically linked to her K-pop debut.

For those unversed, she is the eldest daughter of Shinsegae Group Chairwoman Chung Yoo Kyung and the granddaughter of Shinsegae Chairwoman Lee Myung Hee. Her family initially opposed her decision to become an idol.

In a past interview, Annie shared that her mother agreed to support her dream only if she gained admission to an Ivy League university. Annie studied hard and successfully entered Columbia University, and later fulfilled her goal of debuting as an idol.

With Annie focusing on her studies, the remaining four members of ALLDAY PROJECT—Tarzzan, Bailey, Woochan, and Youngseo—will continue group-related music work. In addition, they will also pursue individual activities during the first half of the year. Tarzzan has already begun solo promotions after releasing the music video for his solo track “MEDUSA.”

ALLDAY PROJECT is a five-member co-ed group produced by hitmaker Teddy under THEBLACKLABEL. The group debuted on June 23, 2025, with the single “FAMOUS,” which quickly helped them win their first music show trophy just 10 days after their debut. They later received Rookie of the Year awards at MMA 2025, the 2025 Asia Artist Awards, and the 2026 Golden Disc Awards.

The group is also preparing new releases. Merchandise tied to their first EP album is scheduled for January 23, 2026, followed by additional merchandise related to their title track “LOOK AT ME” on February 6.
